Environmental Researchers in Vancouver Parks and Public Spaces

Environmental Research in Vancouver Parks and Public Spaces

Research in Vancouver parks
We are interested in collecting information about past and current research in parks and urban areas of Vancouver. If you've conducted research in Vancouver parks about species, biodiversity, environmental quality, green space, ethnocultural ways of knowing, or the relationship between people and nature, please consider taking our survey, which should not take more than 20 minutes of your time.

Our goals for this survey are to:
  • Understand the breadth of past and current environmental research projects in parks and urban areas of Vancouver
  • Identify opportunities to inform data-based planning and policy on environmental topics
  • Update our records to reflect ongoing and previously completed research in parks
This survey will ask some basic questions about:
  • Your research question(s) and methods
  • The ecosystems, species and variables you explored
  • The start and end dates of your research
  • Which parks, streets or urban areas you collected data in
You may find it helpful to have your research proposal, summary or other materials on-hand to answer these questions.

If you have been involved in more than one research project that has collected data within the City of Vancouver, we invite you to complete the survey once per each project.

This information-gathering survey is being administered by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and your responses may be made available to Park Board staff for information purposes. This survey is not associated with any plan or ongoing public engagement process.
